This material focuses mostly on new faces of \u00abfriends of Crimean occupation\u00bb. Our previous article \u00ab<\/b>Old friends of Crimean occupation during the war<\/b><\/a>\u00bb highlighted those who have participated in Russian propagandist events since annexation of Crimea in 2014.<\/b><\/p>\n

In 2022, there were three large events of \u00abInternational Association of friends of Crimea\u00bb: online conference on June 22; international conference \u00abCrimea in the current international environment\u00bb on November 9 in Simferopol and Forum \u00abFriends of Crimea \u2013 friends of Russia\u00bb on November 15 in Moscow. Some \u00abfriends of Crimean occupation\u00bb attended other less important events whereas some \u00abfriends\u00bb limited their activity to their own countries.<\/b><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Bulgaria\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

Editor of popular Bulgarian website \u041f\u043e\u0433\u043b\u0435\u0434 \u0418\u043d\u0444\u043e <\/span>Rumen Petkov<\/b> participated in Forum \u00abFriends of Crimea \u2013 friends of Russia\u00bb (there is another Bulgarian person with the same name and surname; he is scandalous Bulgarian politician). He told that he used his website to counteract Western propaganda.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

For example, he wrote on May 9, 2022 that \u00abtoday Europe ignores the killing of Russian speaking people in Eastern Ukraine as it ignored Hitler\u2019s invasion into Czechoslovakia\u00bb.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Italy\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

Stefano\u00a0Valdegamberi<\/b><\/a>, Italian citizen and \u00abCrimean strawberry farmer\u00bb, has been active \u00abfriend of Russian Crimea\u00bb for years. However, we failed to find him on the collective photo of participants of Simferopol conference \u00abCrimea in current international environment\u00bb. He has not been mentioned among participants of Forum \u00abFriends of Crimea \u2013 friends of Russia\u00bb.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

But Russian propagandist events have been <\/span>attended by two other Italians<\/span><\/a> \u2013 scholar <\/span>Giovanni Spalla<\/b> and publisher and journalist <\/span>Sandro Teti<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sandro Teti is the <\/span>author of books<\/span><\/a> about former Soviet states: Ukraine, Belarus, Lithuania and Turkmenistan. They present \u00abunusual for Western reader\u00bb view at the history and current life of these countries, as their annotations declare.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

For example, book Attacco all\u2019Ucraina is the collection of \u00abhistorical and journalist essays\u00bb written mostly by Italian pro-Russian professors, diplomats and journalists. They repeat myths of the Russian anti-Ukrainian propaganda: from Moscow version of the history of Kyiv Rus to fake stories about Nazi regiment \u00abAzov\u00bb. Website of the Sandro Teti\u2019s publishing house has Russian language version.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

He told at Forum \u00abFriends of Crimea \u2013 friends of Russia\u00bb that everything Russian was forbidden in Italy.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Scholar Giovanni Spalla attended the Forum and presented special issues of the Italian scientific journal GALILEO published in 2021 and 2022. They focused on joint Russian-Italian scientific project \u00abGenoa fortresses of Crimea and Northern Black Sea\u00bb. It seems Italian scholars participated in the Russian looting of Ukrainian historical monuments.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Poland\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

Andrei Romanchuk<\/b>, the head of \u00abRussian cultural association\u00bb in Bialystok and the leader of Polish club of friends of Crimea, brought a group of Polish children to occupied Crimea in 2015 (he violated the procedure for the entrance to the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine, article 332-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). As he said, he laughed at his critics saying that he brought young Polish for the service of Putin!\u00bb. Now he complains that he is persecuted.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Romanchuk complained at the Forum \u00abFriends of Crimea \u2013 friends of Russia\u00bb that all Polish participants of his Crimean trips were called collaborators and traitors. Polish authorities do not cooperate with him. He is not allowed to enter the library. Monuments of Soviet soldiers are not respected anymore. Polish people distrust lovers of the Russian Orthodoxy.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Netherlands\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

Journalist <\/span>Sonya Van Den Ende<\/b> has been special guest of the Forum \u00abFriends of Crimea \u2013 friends of Russia\u00bb. She cooperates with Russian propagandist media, including media of Prigizhin, the owner of infamous PMC \u00abWagner\u00bb. She illegally visited occupied territories of Ukraine. For example, Russian occupants <\/span>brought her<\/span><\/a> to Genichesk and Melitopol on March 18, 2022 and she wrote that local residents greeted Russian troops because they suffered under independent Ukraine.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00abWe are all listed in the \u00abblack list\u00bb of Zelensky because we tell the truth. Russia has to liberate Ukraine and the world from Nazism. I am sure that multi-polar world will be established. We should fight for it\u00bb, as stated Sonya at Forum \u00abFriends of Crimea \u2013 friends of Russia\u00bb.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Germany\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

Andreas Maurer<\/b><\/a> has been \u00abthe most popular German politician in Russia\u00bb and \u00abRussian friend of occupied Crimea\u00bb for many years. He is the mail carrier, former member of the council of German city Quakenbruck from pro-Russian party \u00abThe Left\u00bb. In 2018, he was accused of falsifying municipal elections. He was not allowed by the German court decision to run for elections or be member of a party for four years. We did not find him among participants of Russian propagandist events in 2022 and 2023.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Instead of Maurer, German blogger <\/span>Alina Lipp<\/b> has been among key speakers of the final press conference of the Moscow Forum \u00abFriends of Crimea \u2013 friends of Russia\u00bb. She told about bad attitude of German authorities towards Russia.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In April 2022, German journalists called her <\/span>Putins deutsche Infokriegerin<\/span><\/a>, \u00abGerman information warrior of Putin\u00bb.<\/span><\/p>\n

Daughter of Russian father and German mother, Alina Lipp has been close to German party \u00abGreen\u00bb but then she accused the party of Russophobia and left it. In 2016, she visited Crimea for research purposes as she claimed. In 2019, she joined \u00abAssociation of friends of Crimea\u00bb. She launched youtube channel Gl\u00fccklich auf der Krim \\ Happy in Crimea. In 2021, Alina Lipp decided to reside in Russia. In November 2021, she opened her telegram channel Neues aus Russland, with over 185 thousand subscribers, mostly, Germans.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Alina Lipp attended the conference \u00abGeopolitical war of the West against Russia: Ukrainian case\u00bb on February 15, 2022. The conference gathered key Russian propagandists and opinion makers. Lipp opened its new youtube channel \u00abGerman Woman in Russia\u00bb, with Russian propagandists messages and fake news about Ukraine and the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Lipp\u2019s focus is on Donbas and the war. She has visited occupied territories of Ukraine. Her video gets hundred thousand views\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n

Alina Lipp also accused Germany of suppressing the freedom of speech.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In 2022, German prosecutors initiated several criminal investigations against Lipp (online language of hatred etc.).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Austria\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

Patrik Poppel<\/b><\/a> \u00abrepresented\u00bb Austria at the Forum \u00abFriends of Crimea \u2013 friends of Russia\u00bb. He is a friend of Russian oligarch Konstantin Malofeev. He headed Suvorov Institute which promoted \u00abideas of the Russian world\u00bb in Austria. He brought Aleksandr Dugin, Russian ideologist of \u00abEurasianism\u00bb, to Vienna.\u00a0 He is \u00aban official representative\u00bb of non-recognized Abkhazia and <\/span>Southern Ossetia<\/span><\/a> in Austria.<\/span><\/p>\n

Poppel <\/span>visited<\/span><\/a> occupied Crimea several times as well as occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts. As the head of \u00abClub of friends of Crimea in Austria\u00bb, he keeps talking about the end of European civilization and how Austria lost its sovereignty.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Turkey<\/b><\/p>\n

Journalist of Turkish newspaper \u00abEvrensel\u00bb Okay Deprem visited Moscow Forum \u00abFriends of Crimea \u2013 friends of Russia\u00bb and Simferopol conference \u00abCrimea in current international environment\u00bb. He is an ardent opponent of NATO. He has been an international \u00ab<\/span>observer<\/span><\/a>\u00bb at fake elections of the Head of Donetsk People\u2019s Republic, received the passport of \u00abDonetsk Republic\u00bb and settled on the occupied territory of Donetsk region. Ukraine imposed sanctions on Okay Deprem on October 19, 2022. <\/span><\/p>\n

Journalist and head of \u00abFund for the development of Crimea\u00bb <\/span>Vasfi Sel<\/b> has been also a participant of the Forum \u00abFriends of Crimea \u2013 friends of Russia\u00bb. He is the son of Unver Sel, the head of pro-Russian association of Crimean Tatars of Turkey and the \u00abfriend of Crimean occupation\u00bb. Vasfi Sel urged Crimean Tatars \u00abto unite against fascism and to resist against Western colonial world order\u00bb.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Mehmet Perincek,<\/b> the son of Turkish pro-Russian politician Dogu Perincek, resides in Moscow. He calls himself a political scientist. Recently he <\/span>wrote<\/span><\/a> that \u00abthere would be far more serious armed conflict, if Russia would not start special military operation in Ukraine. More peaceful residents of Ukrainian cities would die. Kyiv would like to use these regions for attack on Russia. Then, many Russian cities along the Ukrainian border would be turned into ruins\u00bb.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Egypt\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

Guest from Egypt <\/span>Iur Iada<\/b> has been <\/span>mentioned<\/span><\/a> in the Russian report about Forum \u00abFriends of Crimea \u2013 friends of Russia\u00bb. He was presented as an expert-economist. He recommended \u00abinvestment opportunities and resources of Crimea\u00bb for Egyptian businessmen. He openly supported Russian aggression against Ukraine on behalf of Egyptian people.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

USA\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

Pro-Russian American filmmaker <\/span>Regis Tremblay<\/b> has been <\/span>living<\/span><\/a> in occupied Yalta since 2019. He participates in local events organized by Muradov. For example, he participated in Simferopol conference \u00abCrimea in the current international environment\u00bb in November 2022.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Trembley is the author of conspiracy movies about \u00abcrimes of USA\u00bb. He calls himself a friend of director Oliver Stone, who made complementary documentary about Putin.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Benin\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

Gabriel Anicet Kotchofa<\/b> is a typical Russian <\/span>agent<\/span><\/a> of influence. He graduated from the Moscow Institute of Oil and Gas and worked in Russia. He has academic titles from three Russian universities and a lot of positions in quasi-governmental bodies. He has been an Ambassador of Benin to the Russian Federation in 2013-2016. He often attends various Russian events and regions and talks about \u00abgood Russia\u00bb on behalf of \u00abprogressive world community\u00bb. There was no surprise that he gave a speech at the <\/span>final press conference<\/span><\/a> of Forum \u00abFriends of Crimea \u2013 friends of Russia\u00bb in November 2022.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Cyprus\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

Russian occupants announced participation of \u00abrepresentatives of Cyprus\u00bb in the online conference of \u00abAssociation of friends of Crimea\u00bb in June 2022 and in Moscow Forum \u00abFriends of Crimea \u2013 friends of Russia\u00bb in Novermber 2022. We do not know exact names of Cypriotes.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

There might have been the following people: <\/span>Andrei Ushakov<\/b><\/a>, the initiator of Cypriote organization \u00abClub of friends of Chersonesus\u00bb, director of the Foundation \u00abCultural heritage of Crimea\u00bb and organizer of exhibition\u00a0 in Cyprus \u00abSacred places of Chersonesus\u00bb; <\/span>Haris Trassu<\/b><\/a>, the president of the Association of friendship and cultural relations \u00abCyprus-Russia\u00bb; <\/span>Dmitrii Apraksin<\/b>, professor of Nicosia University and member of the Coordination council of Russian Compatriots etc.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Thus, marginal politicians, propagandists, freaks and Russians living abroad are real faces of \u00abfriends of Crimean occupation\u00bb.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
