The Center of Journalist Investigations continues a series of publications about children\u2019s military units in occupied Crimea and their initiators and supervisors (see <\/strong>part 1<\/strong><\/a> and <\/strong>part 2<\/strong><\/a>). Pseudo patriotic movement in Russia and on occupied territories of Ukraine is quickly developing. It trains children to hate anything non-Russian and be prepared to kill or die for Russia. Russian state propaganda justifies aggressive war against Ukraine.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Eaglets of Russia, Crimea <\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00abEaglets of Russia<\/a>\u00bb is All-Russian program for pupils of the primary school. It enrolls over 3 million children and 136 thousand teachers. \u00abEaglets\u00bb is part of broader project \u00abPatriotic training of citizens of the Russian Federation\u00bb within Russian \u00abMovement of the First\u00bb, as the Center described in previous material \u00ab<\/strong>Be Prepared to Kill or Die for Russia 2. Who Trains Children\u2019s Army of Russia in Crimea<\/strong><\/a>\u00bb.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Though \u00abEaglets of Russia\u00bb has been presented as social project, it does have clear signs of military unit.<\/p>\n

All pupils of the primary school are obligatory enrolled into \u00abEaglets\u00bb. All parents are obliged to sign their consent for participation of their children in extra curriculum camp \u00abEaglets of Russia\u00bb at the beginning of tuition. Lessons are conducted once per week. Their topics are Motherland, health, family, nature. The main topic is \u00abpatriotic training\u00bb. Teachers use the topic of \u00abVictory in the Great Patriotic War\u00bb. They present \u00abVictory\u00bb as an exclusive achievement of Russia.<\/p>\n

One of directions of \u00abEaglets\u00bb is \u00abEaglet as the guardian of historical memory\u00bb. Teachers bring children to monuments of Soviet soldiers, tell about their heroism and compare with Russian \u00abspecial military operation\u00bb in Ukraine. Teachers hold meetings with heroes of \u00abspecial military operation\u00bb, force children to assemble and send parcels to the front, write letters to Russian soldiers and make camouflage nets. \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Russian Victory Day (the 9th<\/sup> of May) is celebrated in schools by conducting events called \u00abImmortal Regiment\u00bb and \u00abWindows of Victory\u00bb. Children post on windows pictures with St George ribbons, stars and carnation. Teachers organize competitions of staged war time songs (like \u00abKatusha\u00bb and \u00abLegendary Sevastopol\u00bb). Children wear military uniform with St George ribbon.<\/p>\n

Russian citizen Alina Konstantinovna Yaremchuk<\/strong> is supervisor of \u00abEaglets of Russia\u00bb in occupied Crimea. She was born in 1990. She is the teacher of primary classes in Simferopol school # 4. Before 2022, she has been teacher in Krasnoyarsk.<\/p>\n

In Sevastopol, acquisition of membership in \u00abEaglets\u00bb is conducted as solemn consecration ceremony, reminding Soviets rites of acquiring the status of \u00abpioneers\u00bb. \u00abEaglets\u00bb are given ties; they read the text of oath.<\/p>\n

Russian citizen Natalia Yurjevna Korakina<\/strong> (born in 1972) is supervisor of \u00abEaglets of Russia\u00bb in Sevastopol. She works as senior methodologist of Sevastopol \u00abPalace of children\u2019s and youth creativity\u00bb. Before 2014, she has been HR manager in private companies in Russian city of Izhevsk.<\/p>\n

\u00abUnion of Border Guards of Crimea\u00bb, Simferopol <\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00abUnion<\/a>\u00bb has been registered in the Russian State Register of Legal Entities in October 2014 as non-profit organization. Before the Russian full scale invasion into Ukraine, \u00abUnion\u00bb has focused on military training of Crimean children. Since 2019, \u00abUnion\u00bb has actively applied for grants of the Fund of the President of Russia. It won 12 Putin\u2019s grants for \u00abpatriotic training of children\u00bb. \u00abUnion\u00bb conducts lessons of courage, initial military courses, military shooting and meetings with participants of Russian \u00abspecial military operation\u00bb and border guards. They teach children to handle weapons and make trench candles. They also conduct consecration of pupils into the unit called \u00abYoung friend of the border guard\u00bb.<\/p>\n

\u00abUnion\u00bb won the grant to create the center of maritime and military training of children called \u00abDefendant of Motherland<\/a>\u00bb (total cost is one million Rubles). \u00abUnion\u00bb is going to build training ground near Simferopol with obstacle course, climbing wall and shooting gallery. Children will be trained to shoot, throw knives and operate drones. The Center covered this project in article \u00abPutinJugend: Center for military training of children to be created in Crimea<\/a>\u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\t\t
