Russian invaders continue abducting civilians on occupied territories of southern Ukraine. Artur Yaroshevsky, 18 years old student of the Melitopol College, was recently abducted. His location, like most of other abducted people, is unknown as reported by the Center for Journalistic Investigations, referring to its sources in Zaporizhzhia oblast.

Yaroshevsky was taken from the apartment where he lives with his mother and brother. The invaders searched the apartment, seized all the gadgets that were at home.
According to CJI’s sources, occupants told that they took the boy «just for an hour, to conduct a preventive conversation, because his behavior is «wrong». However, Yaroshevsky never returned home, his whereabouts are unknown.
The fate of four representatives of the local self-government of the resort town of Kyrylivka in Melitopol region, who were earlier abducted by the Russian military, is also unknown.

The CJI reported that head of Kyrylivka community Ivan Maleev, his deputy Igor Korobka, and director of municipal institution Svitlana Shiyan were kidnapped on May 24. Later, occupants took Inna Boyko, an employee of the financial department.
Ivan Maleev’s deputy Marina Loginova, whom occupants were unable to abduct, confirms that whereabouts of her colleagues and their condition are not known.
According to the Zaporizhzhia Oblast Military Administration, as of June 9, 121 people are held by occupants. Over 200 people were captured during occupation period.
However, these data cannot be considered final. Information is available only about those people whose relatives officially informed Ukrainian authorities about abductions. According to volunteers’ estimates, as of middle May, more than 400 people were kidnapped from their homes or directly from Melitopol streets. Most of them returned home within a few days.
As reported, journalists of the IRC-Kherson media center created an interactive map of the abductions of Ukrainian civilians by the Russian occupants – public officials, deputies of all levels, entrepreneurs, civic activists and journalists on the temporary occupied territories of Zaporizhzhia oblast.
